Why can't I just use a hose pipe?

Tap water contains minerals (calcium and magnesium) that leave white spots on the glass when they dry. These deposits can shade the cells and reduce efficiency. Our pure water system leaves zero residue.

How often should they be cleaned?

We generally recommend cleaning them once every 6-12 months, ideally in Spring to prepare for the longer days. However, if you live near trees or a busy road, more frequent cleaning may be beneficial.

Will cleaning damage the panels?

No. We use soft-bristle brushes specifically designed for solar glass. We do not use high-pressure washers, which can damage seals, nor do we use harsh chemicals that could affect the coating.

Do you need to walk on the roof?

In most cases, no. We use long-reach telescopic poles to clean panels from the safety of the ground or a ladder level. If roof access is absolutely necessary, we use proper safety equipment.

Does rain clean solar panels?

Rain helps a little, but it doesn't remove stuck-on grime, pollen, or bird droppings. Think of your car windscreen; rain doesn't keep it perfectly clean. A professional scrub is needed to remove the film that blocks light.
