I had my three settees and an armchair cleaned by Kevin last week, only to have the dog vomit the very next day on my clean sitting room carpet. I had already agreed with Kevin that he would return to clean my stairs and bedroom carpet. This he did yoday as well as cleaning the dog vomit from the sittingroom carpet. The sitting room carpet is the same one that was in place when i bought the house some 20+ years ago and it still looks as good as new, so the previous owners must have bought a good quality carpet.  I can thoroughly recommend Kevin, the Cleaning Doctor, I pay him by bank transfer and his services are excellent and tremendous value. Next year I may suggest that he cleans the curtains, it would be so much easierr than taking them to the dry cleaner.

1. Identification & Treatment

We first identify the carpet fibre (wool, synthetic, etc.) and the type of stain. We then apply the specific cleaning agent designed for that unique combination.

Common questions about stain removal.

Can you remove every stain?

While we can remove the vast majority of spots and spills, no cleaner can guarantee 100% removal of every stain. Some substances (like bleach, strong dyes, or old urine) can permanently alter the carpet fibre. We will always inspect and give you an honest assessment before starting.

Does pet urine smell go away?

In most cases we can significantly reduce or completely eliminate pet urine odour using specialist enzyme treatments that break down the uric acid crystals and bacteria causing the smell. However, we always give an honest assessment upfront. If urine has soaked beyond the carpet into the underlay, subfloor, floorboards, skirting boards or other surfaces, it can sometimes be impossible to remove the odour completely. We will always let you know what results we expect to achieve before we begin any work.

Should I use supermarket stain remover?

We strongly advise against it. Many off-the-shelf products contain bleaching agents that can permanently discolour your carpet or "set" the stain, making it impossible for a professional to remove later. Call us first for the best chance of success.

How soon should I call you?

Immediately! The longer a stain sits, the more it bonds with the fibre. Blot (don't rub) any excess liquid with a clean white towel, then call us to arrange a visit.

Can you re-apply stain protection?

Yes. After we have removed the stain and cleaned the area, we highly recommend applying a stain protector (like Scotchgard) to make future spills easier to wipe up before they penetrate the pile.
