Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Paul arrived punctually at my home just prior to the expected time as arranged.
He took a few minutes to unload his equipment and explained in a professional and friendly manner exactly what he planned to do.
The work carried out was to a very high standard. I observed him checking each section of work as he progressed through the job to be undertaken.
I was highly pleased with the finished result and would have no hesitation in recommending his work.
It certainly was good value for the amount paid.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I recently moved house and needed a bit of sprucing up. I was recommended Paul and I’m glad I engaged his services. I needed the patio/driveway cleaned, the roof scraped and sealed, and the PVC fascia cleaned around the house.

Paul was quick to respond and took it from there. He was exceptionally prompt in getting me booked in, and the quote was more than reasonable compared to others in the area.

All the work was completed to a brilliant standard. The old sayings are true: if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys—and you get what you pay for. Paul is certainly no monkey; he is clearly a professional who knows exactly what he is doing. I considered buying the equipment and doing this myself, but it would have taken me weekends to complete to a much lower standard.

I am very happy I took this recommendation and hope you do the same. Fantastic service from a genuine and interesting gent.

Our Process

The Softwash Solution

We treat the infection, not just the symptom.

1. Biocide Application

We apply a specialist biocide to the affected area. This is not just a cleaner; it's a treatment that penetrates the surface to kill the root system of moss, algae, and lichen.

Deep Penetration: Reaches the roots

Sterilisation: Kills invisible spores

2. Natural Cleansing

Once treated, the dead organic matter will weather away naturally over time with wind and rain. The surface actively resists new growth for months or even years.

Long-Term: Results improve over time

Maintenance: Fewer cleans needed

Black Spot

Removes stubborn lichen.

Red Algae

Treats unsightly wall stains.

Why Remove Moss & Algae?

The benefits of our professional biological treatments.

Prevents Damage

Moss holds water against surfaces, which can freeze and cause cracks in roof tiles, brickwork, and render.

Long Lasting Results

Our biocide treatments kill spores at the microscopic level, keeping surfaces cleaner for far longer than pressure washing alone.

Safe Soft Washing

We use low-pressure application methods that are safe for delicate surfaces like K-Rend, older roofs, and heritage stone.

Red Algae Removal

We effectively treat and remove the stubborn red streaks (Trentepohlia) often found on light-coloured walls.

Improves Safety

Algae on paths and decking is incredibly slippery. Our treatment removes this hazard, making your garden safe.

Stops Regrowth

The residual effect of our biocides continues to work after application, preventing new spores from germinating for months.

Price Promise

The price quoted includes all labour, equipment, and biocide solutions – no hidden extras. Same promise whether your home is in Hillsborough or the far end of our area.

Fully Insured

We carry full public liability insurance, giving you complete peace of mind while we work on your property.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our moss and algae treatments.

Why does moss come back after pressure washing?

Pressure washing only removes the visible growth. The spores and roots remain deep in the porous surface and quickly regrow. Our biocide treatment kills the root system, ensuring a much longer-lasting clean.

Is the treatment safe for my pets?

Yes, once the treated surface is dry, it is completely safe for pets and children. We take precautions during application to keep everyone safe.

How long does the treatment take to work?

You will see immediate results as we clean the surface, but the biocide continues to work for weeks, lightening the surface and preventing regrowth. The "self-cleaning" effect on roofs can continue for months.

Will it damage my roof tiles?

No. We use a "Soft Wash" method which relies on the cleaning product rather than high pressure. This is the recommended method for cleaning roofs as it avoids damaging the delicate surface of the tiles.

How often should I get this done?

Every surface is different and requires varying levels of maintenance with location, vegetation and climate all being a contributing factor to rate of regrowth. Ask our specially trained applicators for tailored advice relating to your specific needs.
