Will pressure washing damage the wood?

It can if done incorrectly with too much pressure or the wrong nozzle. We use professional rotary flat surface cleaners and adjust the pressure to gently lift dirt without "furring" or splintering the wood.

Can you clean composite decking?

Yes, absolutely. Composite decking requires careful cleaning to avoid scratching or damaging the finish. We use soft washing techniques and appropriate cleaning solutions safe for composite materials.

Will it be slippery afterwards?

No, quite the opposite! The primary cause of slippery decking is the layer of algae and moss. Once we remove this biological growth, the natural grip of the wood or composite is restored.

Do you oil the deck as well?

How often should I have my deck cleaned?

What are black spots on my patio and can you remove them?

Black spots are actually lichen - a combination of algae and fungus. They have root-like structures that penetrate into the stone. We use specialist biocide treatments that kill the organism at the root, then pressure wash to remove. This provides much longer-lasting results than just pressure washing alone.

Do you offer re-pointing services?

Yes, we can re-point your patio with kiln-dried sand or mortar after cleaning. This stabilises slabs, prevents weed regrowth and gives a neat, finished appearance. We'll advise on the best option for your specific patio type.

Do I need to be home and do you need access to an outside tap?

We do need a water supply, ideally an outside tap. If you don't have one, we can sometimes use an internal tap with a hose run through a window. You don't need to be home as long as we have access to the patio and water supply.

How long before I can walk on my patio after cleaning?

You can usually walk on the patio immediately after cleaning, though it will be wet. If we've applied a sealant, you'll need to keep off for 24-48 hours to allow it to cure properly. We'll give you specific advice based on the treatments used.
