We got the cleaning doctor for exterior cleaning including removing all moss from our roof, biocide treatment on the roof, gutter and fascia cleaning also window cleaning. Communication was great from quote to arrival. They arrived on the day agreed. Marco and Armand were friendly, knowledgable and completed the work to an excellent standard. We had our sofa, arm chair, foot rest and a rug cleaned - they were all spoiled by little doggy paw prints etc. and now they're all like new! Not one stain and they smell so good. Bungalow in Kilkenny, with their own external vacuum system removed all debris from gutters and bin area at side of house, cleaned all facias and soffits, soft wash of all external walls, cleaned the main gate and fence, power  washed all patio area and then cleaned all windows externally.

I contacted Marco (Cleaning Doctor) about getting our house in Kilkenny soft washed to remove the red algae stains. All contact and communication was very professionally relayed.

Absolutely amazing job done and transformed the look of the house. All soffits cleaned also along with the windows. We couldn’t recommend Cleaning Doctor enough, great service and very pleasant to deal with.

Will definitely be using again for any other jobs we would require this service for.

Will pressure washing damage the wood?

It can if done incorrectly with too much pressure or the wrong nozzle. We use professional rotary flat surface cleaners and adjust the pressure to gently lift dirt without "furring" or splintering the wood.

Can you clean composite decking?

Yes, absolutely. Composite decking requires careful cleaning to avoid scratching or damaging the finish. We use soft washing techniques and appropriate cleaning solutions safe for composite materials.

Will it be slippery afterwards?

No, quite the opposite! The primary cause of slippery decking is the layer of algae and moss. Once we remove this biological growth, the natural grip of the wood or composite is restored.

Do you oil the deck as well?

Yes, we offer an optional oiling service. Once the deck is clean and fully dry (which may require a separate visit), we can apply high-quality decking oil to nourish the wood and protect it from the elements.

How often should I have my deck cleaned?

We recommend a professional clean once a year, typically in spring, to remove winter grime and algae build-up, ensuring your deck is safe and looking its best for the summer.

Do you seal the deck as well?

What are black spots on my patio and can you remove them?

Black spots are actually lichen - a combination of algae and fungus. They have root-like structures that penetrate into the stone. We use specialist biocide treatments that kill the organism at the root, then pressure wash to remove. This provides much longer-lasting results than just pressure washing alone.

Do you offer re-pointing services?

Yes, we can re-point your patio with kiln-dried sand or mortar after cleaning. This stabilises slabs, prevents weed regrowth and gives a neat, finished appearance. We'll advise on the best option for your specific patio type.

Do I need to be home and do you need access to an outside tap?

We do need a water supply, ideally an outside tap. If you don't have one, we can sometimes use an internal tap with a hose run through a window. You don't need to be home as long as we have access to the patio and water supply.

How long before I can walk on my patio after cleaning?

You can usually walk on the patio immediately after cleaning, though it will be wet. If we've applied a sealant, you'll need to keep off for 24-48 hours to allow it to cure properly. We'll give you specific advice based on the treatments used.
